7 July 2025

Martina Occelli, Research Associate at Cornell University’s Equitable Agricultural Research Lab, will join us for our 11th webinar in the 1000FARMS series to discuss “Group-based and citizen science on-farm variety selection approaches for bean growers in Central America” and answer the question: How do different participatory research methods shape farmers’ outcomes?

Date: Thursday 10 July
Time: 15:00–15:30 (CET)

Summary

The presentation will compare tricot-PVS (triadic comparisons) with group-based participatory variety selection; share how 2,000 farmers across the Trifinio area contributed to research on food security and on-farm diversification; and discuss how farmer-scientist interactions influence broader socioeconomic outcomes.
