11 June 2026
Join us for our 26th webinar as Stephen Angudubo, On-Farm Trial Network Coordinator at the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT, Uganda, introduces practical tools for planning and budgeting tricot trials within CGIAR–NARES networks.
Date: Thursday 18 June
Time: 14:00–14:30 (CET)
Summary
Drawing on his extensive experience coordinating on-farm variety testing across East and Southern Africa, Stephen Angudubo will explain how the template supports transparent resource allocation, efficient trial design and cost comparisons across countries and implementation models. He will walk participants through key inputs – from trial dimensions and seed requirements to labour, travel and communication costs – and demonstrate how to interpret the built-in sensitivity and scenario analysis to identify major cost drivers and test cost-saving options.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- Why costing matters for transparent resource allocation and efficient tricot trial design.
- How to enter key information into the template, including seed requirements, material costs, labour time and travel expenses.
- How to interpret the sensitivity and scenario analysis to identify major cost drivers.
- What options exist for testing cost-saving scenarios across different country contexts and implementation models.
- How to produce a concise synthesis report that supports evidence-based planning for scalable on-farm testing.
