8 April 2026

Join us for our 23rd webinar in the 1000FARMS series. In this session, we’ll hear from Fanny Howland and Katherine Quintero, both from the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, about a study examining the contribution of the 1000FARMS project to scaling the use of the tricot approach for breeding decisions in Africa and Haiti.

Date: Thursday 9 April 2026
Time: 15:00–15:30 (CET)

Summary

The speakers will share findings from a qualitative, theory-based evaluation assessing how the 1000FARMS project has contributed to scaling the use of the tricot approach for breeding decisions across targeted countries in Africa (Ethiopia, Ghana and Uganda) and beyond (Haiti). Drawing on online surveys, secondary sources and semi-structured interviews, the study explored shifting levels of awareness, knowledge and adoption among breeders, and examined where 1000FARMS has driven change – and where evidence remains limited.
